Consideration

April 22nd, 2009 by admin

A group of four people invited me to a meeting to discuss how to design a system where two inputs could be integrated into four outputs.  These outputs resembled various shapes and colors when drawn in our diagram sketch for conversation, but revealed material, production, human resource issues, and management concerns.  Fortunately, there was no specific deadline, so we could be as creative as we wanted.

After ten minutes of sharing all the data, one person said, “how about a pineapple?” Another said, “I think green is important.” Someone else suggested leafs.  Another said “orange.”

It came to be my turn to speak and I agreed with everyone, and that if applied with consideration for longterm strategy, we would not only have solved the fulfillment of four outputs, but would eventually discover numerous outlets for creativity and additional systems, adding value to our original efforts, as well as developing a style and technique for our work as a collective.
