Cary Grant: Chapter 14

While I’ve been down with this nasty cold, I’ve had a lot of time to sit and do nothing, which involved watching a documentary on the life of Cary Grant.  From what was revealed, his whole life seemed to be about dealing with this character and his actual self – Archie Leach.  Finally, at age 53, he realized he needed to sort through this and find clarity, and after his wife underwent similar treatment under the guidance of two doctors, Grant signed up for a string of sessions where he was administered LSD and sat in a room with the doctors, having many conversations about the meaning of life.  This was before the drug was illegal, and the results were profound.  He wrote about this experience in chapter 14 of his autobiography.
