It’s been said by some that the new economy will involve more trading of services, that in times of short cash, people will work together to provide things for each other that they would normally purchase outright.

Selling creative work for money has been going on in the world for a long time, with varying degrees of success.  For me, I’ve started various web sites, announced that something was for sale, and some people came and purchased those items.  But over the past few years, I’ve tried out some things where money wasn’t involved.  Instead of cash, I asked for other creative work, or thoughts in return, and the results were very interesting.

When people have the choice of paying cash or investing themselves, which do you think they’d choose?
