Electrified

I just returned from the SXSW festival in Austin, TX.  There was a lot of great music.  There was a lot of music.  And because of that, I was beginning to feel overwhelmed and dreadful about, well, music.  But then this happened:

Electric Electric from rhythmplex on Vimeo.

Electric Electric are a band from Strasbourg, France.  I had never heard of them, but upon stumbling upon them in an unlikely setting (a daytime slot in a veritable garbage dump), I was absolutely thrilled.  And I mean that to the fullest extent.

The following day was the final night of the fest, which culminated into a messy concoction of brats, broken drum sticks, endless Texas beer, and multiple bottles of 5 hour Energy drink, and Electric Electric appeared again in an unlikely place – a five star hotel lobby.  This is where I shot the above video.  And as video never does reality justice, my only hope is that those viewing might understand what things were like: adrenaline rushing through the crowd, the music pure, yet viscerally loud, and then, you discover a man in a full-body yellow spandex suit crawling around on the floor grabbing people’s legs.  This moment alone made the whole trip worth it.

Great stuff. The audio/video came out really well too.

Nice! Like a grindcore version of Battles.
